The Igolo of the Etche Ethnic Nationality, Chief Jerome Eke has pledged to use his huge financial muscle to advance the growth and progress of the people of the area.

The Igolo of the Etche Ethnic Nationality, Chief Jerome Eke has pledged to use his huge financial muscle to advance the growth and progress of the people of the area.

The Igolo spoke at Ndashi Monday during festivities to mark one year of his installation as a chief.

The chief who is obviously among the most well-to-do Etche businessmen of the moment thanked the people for turning out in large numbers to witness the occasion.

According to him, he was humbled by their goodwill and elated by their love towards him.

The Telegraph had authoritatively reported that the Etche high chief was planning a surprise for the Onye-Ishi-Etche in council Chief Eke used the occasion to hand over a four wheel drive jeep to the Onye-isi-Etche, Eze E.N.B Opurum as gift.

He said the gesture was part of his support and respect for the Etche traditional institution.
Undergraduates of Etche extraction were also benefactors of a scholarship scheme set in motion by the Igolo of Etche Ethnic Nationality.
