Detectives at the Lagos State police command are now interrogating a 10-year-old boy who along with three others specialise in bus robbery, popularly called catch-in-the-air.

The kid robber, a primary two pupil in a public primary school in Ajegunle area of the state, Solomon Soluade told Daily Sun that he has been operating with Afeez, Azubuike and Azeez to dispossess innocent passengers of their money and valuables in a commercial bus specially dedicated for robbery.

A child of separated parents, Solomon disclosed that he goes to rob with his gang after school hours and during holidays.
According to him, "my job is that of a conductor. We are four in number. I call passengers especially from Coconut area to Mile 2. Afeez will be the driver while others will bring out their guns once passengers enter and collect their money from them."

The kid robber who said his age and innocent look was always an effective bait which gives passengers the confidence to board their bus explained that the gang was smashed on Monday when they were returning home after an operation around Surulere area. While others were arrested, Azubuike a.k.a Zubee who is the gang leader, however, escaped.
Soluade who lives with his jobless father at the Alakoto area of Ajegunle said he takes pleasure in the act.

He told Daily Sun that his share of the loot from every operation was N300, which he mostly used to "buy corner clothes," while others would share money in thousands.

The boy also disclosed that he had never revealed the sort of job he does with the gang to his father. He claimed that it was Afeez, who stays in his area that initiated him into robbery.

Afeez has told police that Azubuike was their leader, adding that the three guns they usually use during operation were with Azubuike.

Detectives have so far gathered from preliminary investigations that Azubuike and his gang were into other forms of robbery before he made enough money to buy a commercial bus solely for the purpose of using it to rob.
