Police arrests mad woman, two others for attempted ritual killing


THE police in Lagos have arrested a mad woman and two others for allegedly attempting to behead an unidentified middle aged man for ritual purposes.

LAGOS—THE police in Lagos have arrested a mad woman and two others for allegedly attempting to behead an unidentified middle aged man for ritual purposes.

The arrest sources said was effected following a tip by men of the vigilante group keeping vigil at SAMCO and VONO Products Company Ltd along Mushin-Oshodi road. The woman according to sources had long pretended to be insane and was always seen on every dunghill in the area until she was arrested weekend at about 12 midnight and discovered to be of sound mind. She had since confessed to the police that she was not actually mad.

Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ojajuni Olabobe who confirmed the arrest gave the names of the suspects as Messrs Isaiku Lamasi, of Matori in Mushin, Jamiu Akao and the woman Bolanle Ajibulu adding that investigation into the matter was on to determine their culpability.

In another development, the police said yesterday that it had commenced investigation into the kidnap weekend of a 12 year old boy identified as Ahamuelere Nwankwo by yet to be identified persons. Police sources said the two armed men had stormed No.12 Tunji Aderoju street Ire Akari Estate and kidnaped the lad at gun point while the parents were away.
