The management of Base Comprehensive College, Borokiri, Port Harcourt has honoured deserving students who distinguished themselves in the field of academic and other extra-curricular activities.
The occasion, which was the graduation/prize-giving ceremony, took place penultimate Tuesday July 26, 2005 at the school's premises.
In his address, the proprietor of the school, Hon. (Warisenibo) Victor A.D. Green said that the occasion served as a way of encouraging students of the institution and charged the out-going students to hold firmly to God, respect their parents and engage in meaningful activities.
The proprietor commended the effort of the state government towards improving the educational system and called on the state ministry of education to re-double its efforts in stamping out cultism, examination malpractices and other social vices in the school system.
In his own speech, the special guest of honour, Mr. Nwaduwa Princewill, Rivers State zonal co-ordination of NECO advised the outgoing students to face the challenges outside the school with courage.
Also speaking, the chairman of the occasion, Mr. Fanwo who also is the P.T.A chairman of the school praised the high standard of education pursed by the school and appealed to parents and quadian to be regular to PTA meetings.
The principal of the school, Mrs. Agomuo wished the students well in all their endeavours and urged parents to continue offering training to their children. She thanked the gust for attending the occasion.
