An Abeokuta high Court has ordered the Vee Networks Limited to remove its base station from a parcel of land in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Alhaji Isiaka Popoola, the plaintiff, has gotten an injunction ordering the defendants (Vee Networks Limited) and Harris Communications Nigeria Limited to evacuate its property from the plaintiff’s landed property on the Presidential Hill top GRA extension in the state capital.

Before the judgment, the plaintiff had complained to the court through his counsel, B. Ajasa, that the defendants had trespassed his land by digging and burying obnoxious materials on site and abandoning containers on the site for over eight months

The Judge, N.I. Agbelu in the judgement dated 27th July, 2005 directed the defendants “to immediately dislodge all “earth” and radio-active materials and or equipment of its base station buried in the plaintiff’s land.”

When Daily Sun visited the site Plot A on Presidential Hilltop Extension I, it was observed that the base station and the mast were still conspicuous on the plaintiff’s land and the erection of the fence was already in progress.

When contacted, an official of the company, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the company would do everything possible to comply with the court order.
