PRETORIA, August 12 (Itar-Tass) - The release of the Russian sailors from the Nigerian prison has been delayed at least until Monday, an official from the Russian Embassy in Lagos told Itar-Tass by telephone on Friday.

On Friday, the Russian Embassy in Nigeria held another round of consultations with the lawyers of the Russian sailors who are kept in a remand ward of the Kiri-Kiri maximum security prison on oil contraband charges.
The federal court in Lagos on August 4 met the petition of the Russian sailors' lawyers to release them on the Embassy's guarantees. It requires a letter of guarantees signed by the Russian Ambassador to Nigeria.
