A make-shift Super Eagles team, yesterday in Abuja, walloped Littoral Atlantique of Benin Republic 6-0.
Playing before a sparse crowd in the National Stadium, the Austin Eguavoen hurriedly assembled squad, showed great composure with the ball as they ran rings round the Beninois team, which barely offered little opposition to the Super Eagles who were business-like in the attack.
From the blast of the referee's whistle, the Nigerian side, mainly of boys from the local league, took the game to their opponent's defence and it was not long before they scored the first of the six goals through Charles Omokaro.
The first goal was all the tonic the Nigerians needed to go on the offensive and with their neat passing game and great understanding, it was not long before Chinedu Ezimora added the second.
The third goal was scored by Kelechi Osunwa while Kingsley Ikpoto netted the fourth in the opening minutes of the second half and that goal sent local fans into a frenzy of celebration. Okemiri Ogbonnaya added the fifth goal and Enyimba's David Tvakase put the icing on the cake with the sixth goal, which was a beauty to behold.
