In a remarkable turn around, former captain of the Super Eagles, Sunday Oliseh, has been dropped from the 25-man squad of players coach Augustine Eguavoen had called up for the all important World Cup qualifier between Nigeria and Algeria billed for September 4.

Chairman of the Nigeria Football Association, NFA, Alhaji Ibrahim Galadima, told nigeriansportsonline. com late yesterday:
"Oliseh, Aghahowa and Daniel Shittu have had to be removed from the list of players invited for the match against Algeria.
"I have not been able to establish contact with Oliseh."
Alhaji Galadima was rushing home after working late in his office at the NFA secretariat in Abuja last night and so could not give further details.

However, it was learnt that Aghahowa excused himself from the match because he had not fully recovered from the injury he sustained some months ago.

Nigerian football officials were not able to confirm Ifeanyi Udeze for the game and his place in the squad is still hanging in the balance.
Replacements for the dropped players would be named today.
