36-yr-old man rapes daughter

A randy 36-year-old farmer, Emmanuel Hassan, was yesterday ordered to be remanded in prison custody by the Upper Area Court 2 in Jimeta, Yola, the Adamawa State capital, after pleading guilty of having sex with his 13-year-old daughter, Hassama.

The sex maniac of Sabere ward in Girei local government area of the state, however, attributed his sacrilegious act to the handiwork of "the devil."

The victim, who appeared in court, looked pale, unkempt and had injuries all over his body. She said her father often began by beating her black and blue each time he needed sex from her.

Prosecuting police officer, Mr. Sunday Yusuf, had informed the court that Mr. Hassan forced his daughter to sleep with him against her wish.

The prosecutor who presented witnesses to the court, stated that the complaint was made by Hassana when she could no longer bear her father's behaviour.

According to the police First Information Report (FIR) made available to Daily Champion, Hassan adopted several inhuman methods to seduce his daughter.

The accused person was alleged to have resorted to physical assault to silence and weaken the victim (Hassana) each time he needed to carry out his sinful act.

Hassana, according to the police, on some occasions, fled their house and ran to one of their relations when she could no longer bear her father's behaviour.

The farmer, the court was informed, also refused to heed the advice of members of his family who had warned him severally of his disgusting habits.

Speaking with newsmen, Hassana who said her mother was no longer staying with their father, stated: "Any time he (father) wants to sleep with me, he will beat me and lock the door."

Presiding judge, Danladi Mohammed, ordered that the accused be remanded in prison custody while the case was adjourned to August 17 this year.
