Jigawa UBE board earmarks N32m to train teachers on IT


The Jigawa Universal Education Board, Tuesday announced plan to spend the sum of N32million in the next six months on IT training of teachers in both primary and secondary school across the state preparatory to e-learning.

DUTSE - The Jigawa Universal Education Board, Tuesday announced plan to spend the sum of N32million in the next six months on IT training of teachers in both primary and secondary school across the state preparatory to e-learning.

The Executive Chairman of the Board, Alhaji Babangida Hussaini told participants at Computer appreciation training programme in Kazaure that the Board has acquired soft ware to aid e-learning.

Alhaji Babangida Hussain stated that already the total sum of N16million has been released for the third quarter covering the months July, August and September, pointing out that the summer holiday will be exploited for the exercise.

The UBE Chairman, said that the system were groomed in ages and classes to be distributed to the 40 participants drawn from selected schools at the end of the exercise, adding that a total of 98 computers has been donated to all the affected schools inm readiness for the programe.

Alhaji Babangida Hussaini disclosed that the Board has itemized its programme designed to cover Mathematics, English Language, Accounting modalities and Islamic Religious Knowledge, stressing that there are conscious effort to empower the teachers effectively to execute the job.

According to Babangida Hussaini "we have a frame work for capacity building and human development through the Information Technology, for it remains the fastest way of impacting knowledge and put our children ahead of others."

The Executive Chairman, said the Board has drawn a road map that will cover all the existing schools in both Primary and Secondary institution in the State, maintaining that the essence is designed to make learning easier.

Alhaji Babangida Hussaini who acknowledged the contribution of the Jigawa state Government towards the success of the initiative, pledged to justify the confidence reposed on the Board to deliver the millennium goal.

The Executive Chairman further called on the participants to identify with the innovation adding that apart from making their job easier , students /teachers relationship will receive a boost.
