Nigerian teenage sensation John Mikel Obi will know on Friday whether he will have to return to Lyn Oslo and honour his contract or continue to wait until a final decision is made by world football governing body Fifa.
Fifa's Dispute Resolution Committee met early this month, and one of the issues that came up for discussion was Mikel's contract situation with the Norwegian club.
Mikel, along with Lyn's three other Nigerian players, failed to return to the club after last month's World Youth Championships in Holland and the club petitioned Fifa to compel the players to return.
All four players are currently in Nigeria and Obi has been named in the Super Eagles squad to take on Libya on 17 August.
Mikel's agent John Shittu told KICK OFF that Obi has been training and would remain in shape
"He has been training here in Lagos and there is no question about his fitness," Shittu said but declined further statements.
