AKULGA boss lauds community


The Chairman of AKUKU-Toru local government council, Hon. (Barr.) Tammy Wenike Danagogo has commended the peaceful disposition of Obonoma community.

The Chairman of AKUKU-Toru local government council, Hon. (Barr.) Tammy Wenike Danagogo has commended the peaceful disposition of Obonoma community.

Hon. Danagogo made the commendation at Obonoma during a reception held in honour of the AKULGA Supervisor for Finance, Mr. Onari Brown, by the Committee of Friends, Obonoma.

The council chairman stated that "Obonoma community is one of the communities that has never experienced restiveness" since he came on board as the chairman; and urged them to continue in that spirit.

He lauded the Committee of Friends, Obonoma for their interest in the development of the community, and thanked the community for their support during his electioneering campaign.

Earlier in his address, the president of the organization, Mr. Dawaye Walson had commended the AKULGA Council Chairman for his developmental strides, particularly the provision of electricity for Obonoma community, adding that they appreciate the appointment of Mr Onari Brown as the supervisor for finance in the area.

Mr Walson also commended Hon. Anthonia Membere, member of the State House of Assembly for her skill acquisition programme for women in the area, and called for more employment opportunities for young graduates of the area.

In his response, the Supervisor for Finance in the area, Mr. Onari Brown expressed his gratitude to the council chairman for his appointment, and pledged to do his best to justify his appointment. Dignitaries that graced the occasion include Hon. Anthonia Membere and Hon. Kitchner Ibroma.

In another development, the wife of the chairman of AKULGA, Mrs. Mandy Danagogo has presented cash and gift items to the first baby of the year in the LGA; as part of 2005 celebration.

The baby, Master Soibi Young Jack (Jnr) was delivered at about 12.45 am on New Year day and weighed about 3.5 kg.
Presenting the gift items, the wife the council chairman, Mrs Danagogo urged the parents of the privilege baby of the year to bring up the child in the ways and fear of the Lord; and commended the wife for the state governor, Justice Mary Odili for her motherly assistance to the women folk in the state.
