Armed Robbers Attack Lawmaker At Apo Quarters


Member of the House of Representaives, Hon Sani Doruwa was last Friday attacked by armed robbers. Although no injuries were inflicted, the robbers made away with cash, electronics, jewelries and other valuables.

Member of the House of Representaives, Hon Sani Doruwa was last Friday attacked by armed robbers. Although no injuries were inflicted, the robbers made away with cash, electronics, jewelries and other valuables.

Numbering six, the robbers broke into the lawmakers house, located in Zone B, Apo quarters at about 2.00am through the back window.

Doruwa, who represents Bungudo/Maru Federal constituency confirmed the incident and explained that the robbers pulled down the burglary proof on one of the windows before gaining access into the house.

He said they went into the children's bedroom, "when I heard the noise and went to find out what was happening, one of them pointed a gun at my head and commanded me to my bedroom."

He explained that four of the robbers followed him to his room and the other two went to his second wife's bedroom, "the four that led me asked me to lie face down. They demanded for dollars but I told them I have no dollars, they then went on to search the house pulling out every drawer.

"For about 40 minutes, they moved from one room to another searching for money, at the end they collected about N73,000 from me and my first wife and about N10,000 from my second wife, they also packed electronics, my wristwatch and my wives jewelries."

He said they also asked him to bring his gun, "but I told them I have no gun and when they had packed what they wanted they left after about 40 minutes."
