Etche for Positive Change, a socio-cultural group in Etche local government area has elected a seven member new executive to pilot the affairs of the body for the next two years.
Mr. Anokwuru George was elected as the new chancellor while Mr. Gift Nwiyi and Anubiri Uchechukwu emerged as Vice-Chancellor and Chief Scribe respectively. Others include Mr. Amadi Emmanuel, financial secretary; Mr. Nwanyanwu Fabian Exchequer; Mr. Nweke Echezolum provost I and Mr. Maurice Nwala provost II.
In his post-election speech, the newly elected chancellor, Mr. George thanked the members for giving him the opportunity once again to serve. He promised to work in collaboration with the entire members and collectively with the various groups in the local government area. This, he said was to help in bringing about meaningful development to the people of the area and appealed for support and co-operation from all and Sundry.
Also speaking, chairman and secretary of the caretaker/electoral committee, Mr. Akanwa Gift and Comrade Obi Azuonwu Obi charged the incoming executive to discharge their duties in accordance with the constitution of EPC. He commended the members of the association for their mature and peaceful disposition during the election.
