Among Nigerians in London, news of the purchase of a palatial apartment in a high-brow area by a governor of one of the rich mineral producing states in the South-South is spreading rather very fast.

The splash of a whooping five million pounds by the governor on the Bayswater building is coming even as the people of the region wallow in abject poverty and under development, and Nigerian leaders go cap-in-hand begging for debt reduction facilities from creditors shocked by the rate of financial corruption.

Most in Britain take up mortgage to pay for their dream hopes but the South-South governor simply paid cash, forcing Nigerians in diaspora to wonder how these new helmsmen get the kind of money they are shipping into Europe and the United States.

Back home, not much is happening in their domain. Their people are impoverished but their leaders who swore to better their future don't seem to care at all.

Their hopes for a better future dashed by the lack of adequate amenities and the evil neglect of their equally lecherous governments which claim funds aren't enough to develop their areas, they turn their anger against oil companies.

The governor actually more popular in South-South circles than he is at the national level reportedly prefers to stay at the Park Lane Hotel and our London sources say he takes up a whole wing of the hotel.
But he is a lover of roast plantain and fish garnished with pepper, onions and stuff.
And the Congolese, the ones noted in London for preparing the delicacy are said to be at his beck and call each time he visits.
There are even hints that he even paints the town in red, with his aides said to call up persons from the phone booth to be part of the fun - the expenditure of taxpayers' money placed in his charge.

Where exactly is the house located? On what street is it?
Who are the neighbours of is the south-south governor in question?

Who for that matter is the south-south governor?
Which is his state?

The Telegraph is still digging and our sources out there are trying to obtain a picture of the wonder house that cost five million pounds.

Keep a date with us next week for more shocking details on how funds flowing from the national level to the South-South is being squandered.
