GOVERNOR Bola Tinubu of Lagos State has warned traditional rulers speculators in the state to desist from selling government landed property or face severe sanction even as he served a quit notice to all owners of structures on the setbacks of the Lekki- Epe expressway to remove such structures as such contravened the state town planning laws or risk demolition.
LAGOS - GOVERNOR Bola Tinubu of Lagos State has warned traditional rulers speculators in the state to desist from selling government landed property or face severe sanction even as he served a quit notice to all owners of structures on the setbacks of the Lekki- Epe expressway to remove such structures as such contravened the state town planning laws or risk demolition.
Governor Tinubu at the commissioning of the 18-kilometer network of roads at the Abijo GRA residential scheme in Ibeju lekki, said all such structures were constructed in clear contravention of the state government's intention to actualize the forthcoming Lekki Infrastructure project that must see the light of the day.
Tinubu said "I will not hesitate to wield the big stick on any traditional ruler or baales in the Ibeju- Lekki area that goes ahead to sell land indiscriminately before real development comes to the area."
He reiterated that the whole area and the chiefs stand at better advantage if they desist from selling the land indiscriminately because by the time the state government completes the coastal roads, the price of land would have appreciated geometrically than what they are being offered today.
The governor therefore, advised those who have been offering gratifications to government officials towards influencing government position about illegal structures to desist from the act, because no amount of inducements could change his mind about demolishing all such structures on the lekki --Ajah
