Ageing West played last for the Eagles at the 2002 Nations Cup held in Mali.
The player is expected to join 24 others for the August 17 international friendly against Libya.
The encounter is part of the build up for the team in preparation for the crucial World Cup qualifier against Algeria on September 3 in Algiers.
Another surprise name for the match is Pius Ikedia, who is making a return after over a year of absence in the national team.
Holland 2005 FIFA World Youth Championship revelations, Mikel Obi, Taye Taiwo, and Sanni Kaita, were also invited.
Christian Obodo, Ifeanyi Ekwueme, Obafemi Martins, Yusuf Ayila, Joseph Enakharire and Abbey George were also invited.
Others are Obinna Nwaneri, Joseph Yobo, Chidi Odia, Garuba Lawal, Wilson Oruma, Kanu Nwakwo, Austin Okocha and Seyi Olofinjana.
Former Iwanyanwu Nationale safe hands, Vincent Enyeama, and Austin Ejide are the goal keepers invited.
