CAF Champions League: We 'll redeem our image - Anyansi-Agwu

African Champions, Enyimba of Nigeria, face a tough task on Sunday in the group A of the CAF Champions League as they host Raja Casablanca in Aba.

With just one point from three matches played so far in the series, the Peoples' Elephants are in a difficult situation.

The Chairman of Enyimba, Felix Anyansi-Agwu, told our correspondent that the management has worked hard to ensure the team wins its first three points on Sunday

He said, 'We have been talking to the players and working closely with the coaches to see how they are getting set for the task ahead.

'It is obvious we are down but I want to assure our teeming fans that we are not out yet. We are going to bounce back into contention in the competition."

The Enyimba boss said some bad eggs among the players contributed to the predicament of the team on the group A table of the Champions League.

He said, 'We have lost about eight first team players who cannot be replaced in the continental race again. It is sad that after signing for a team, the players turn round to seek career abroad midway into the competition.

'They come begging to be released and yet they have done so much harm to the image of the club."

Anyansi said the visiting North African team would be the first victim of Enyimba's anger in their attempt to return to winning ways.

It will be recalled that the Aba Elephants defeated Etoile of Tunisia last year in the final to lift the prime continental trophy for the second consecutive time.
