The Rivers State Executive Council has received the Draft White Paper on the crisis that rocked Ataba Community in Andoni Local Government Area of the state, from the Exco Committee, and deliberated extensively on the Draft Report.

Briefing Government House Correspondents shortly after the State Executive Council meeting at the Council Chambers of Government House, Port Harcourt, the Commissioner for Information, Mr. Magnus Abe, said before Council examined the issue arising from the Draft Report, the Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Tele Ikuru, who hails from the Andoni area, was excused from the meeting to allow for independent contribution of members on the Draft Report.
The Information Commissioner said, the State Council has directed the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice to quickly harmonize the deliberations of the Council with a view to ensuring that the Report was made public as soon as possible.
He explained that the State Ministry of Justice has been charged with the responsibility of fine-tuning the decision of the Executive Council, and in the nearest future, Government position on the Judiciary Commission of Inquiry on the Ataba crisis would be made public through the office of the Attorney General.
It would be recalled that following the crisis in Ataba Community in Andoni Local Government area of the state, Government set up a Judicial Commission of Inquiry into the crisis, which had since submitted its Report to the State Government.
