Nwuzi dedicates award to Odili, Etche people

Ephraim Nwuzi, Chairman of Etche Local Government Council has dedicated the award of the best performing chairman to Governor Odili, the PDP and the people of Etche.

Ephraim Nwuzi, Chairman of Etche Local Government Council has dedicated the award of the best performing chairman to Governor Odili, the PDP and the people of Etche.

Nwuzi who spoke to the Telegraph shortly after the awards said, "Today, we celebrate the award of excellence, but we came this far because of the motivation that we got from the State Governor, Dr Peter Odili."

The chairman explained, "The governor had been desirous to transform our state and has given us free hands to embark on projects that would better the lot of our people."

Nwuzi noted that "His Excellency has been a role model to us all, urging us to leave foot prints on the sands of time in the service of our people.

"We did not set out as a government to hunt for awards. All we set out to do was to serve our state, our party and our people. If we have done well, if we have brought some hope to our people as the government at the grassroots, it is because of the inspiration that we have drawn from our father, the governor and from the dictates of our party manifesto."

"As a humble servant, I dedicate this award first to the governor, then to my party the PDP and the people of Etche who gave me mandate to serve them", he emphasized.

The Etche council chairman had been named the best in the State because of his gigantic bridge project and the electricity scheme that has brought light to communities that have never before had the opportunity.

Nwuzi said the recognition that the award had brought "would commit us to better services and by the special grace of God, we will not let our people and our party down."

He thanked the people of Etche for their support for the present administration and urged them to rally behind the Odili government at all times.

As he put it, "the governor has good intentions for our people.. He has never wavered in his determination to put Rivers State first. His resolve to leave our dear state better than he met it has not been in doubt either.".

Nwuzi went on, "We in Etche identify with the noble vision of our leader. And I have no doubt in my mind that the Etche people will continue to rally behind the Odili administration because of the indelible legacies that our Golden Governor has already left behind."

The council chairman thanked the Etche people, saying "without you, we would not have strived to serve. With your support, there are strong signals we can all do it together."

He added, "I invite every Etche man to get on board. This is the time to build and we are willing to work with every one, to tap ideas that would change the fortune of our people from anywhere.

In Etche, Nwuzi's popularity rating has shot up. At Okehi where there has never been power from the national grid there is jubilation.
In Ulakwo/Umuselem, the situation is no different among ordinary folks.
