Meanwhile Edo State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Muktar Abbas has blamed the criminal activities on greed and thirst for immediate affluence among young people.
Abbas while addressing newsmen on activities of his command under his leadership , noted that most of those involved and caught in violent crimes were young people aged 17 and 35 years.
He also expressed dismay at the practice by certain lawyers to petition the police over alleged "threat to life" whereas the so-called threats were frivolous and the lawyers more often than not never bothered to go back to the police once they had filled their clients' petition.
He assured of his command's readiness to tackle crime in the state and appealed for greater cooperation among law abiding citizens, through provision of relevant information.
