West Brom striker Kanu believes the fans have yet to see the best of him.
As he prepares to kick off a new season in the Premiership the former Arsenal, Inter Milan and Ajax striker said he was keen to avoid a relegation battle like last season.
He told the club's official website: "I'm very, very happy because I didn't want to be in a side that got relegated.
"We now have the chance to do better than last season and there is a lot of Kanu I still have to show the fans - and I'm just glad to have the chance to do it.
"I believe it will come from me and, like everyone in the squad, I'm looking to start against Manchester City.
"If I don't the I'll just keep working and do my best for the team when I get my chance."
