Police detectives drafted from the Police Force Headquarters, Alagbon Close, Lagos to Ibadan, Oyo State to unravel the mystery surrounding the assassination of Alhaji Lateef Olaniyan (a.k.a. Lati Osogbo), yesterday arrested a political aide of Governor Rashidi Ladoja, Mr. Fatai Aremu [aka Tyson].

Ironically, however, Aremu, a former body guard of Alhaji Lamidi Adedibu recently decamped to the fold of Ladoja. He was arrested in company of the driver to Chief Bola Alphonso.

Aremu, who was a staunch henchman of Adedibu, had after the election of Ladoja decamped to the governnor's camp and put in charge of one of the vehicles of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
A reliable police source said both Aremu and Alphonso's driver were arrested along with the woman.

"Yes, some arrests have been made. As of now, I can't tell you the actual number. But I can confirm to you that the man all of you are asking about, Tyson, leads the pack," the source said.
Olaniyan was shot by some unidentified men on July 26 at Elewure Area of Sango, Ibadan.
Since the murder, the state government and Adedibu's camps have been engaging in accusation and couuter-accusations on the murder, while putting the state police command in the centre of the conmplicity.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Femi Adedeji, when contacted on phone said that it was the police investigating team from Lagos who could confirm the arrests since they had handed over the case- file on the matter to the Lagos Headquarters.
