The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) in UNIPORT has expressed joy over the appointment of two renowned academicians in the country to enviable positions.
The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) in UNIPORT has expressed joy over the appointment of two renowned academicians in the country to enviable positions.
In a statement signed by its chairman, Mr. Abel Ejiowhor and the secretary, Mr. E.A. Ekanem, SSANU expressed felicitation on the appointment of Prof. Don Baridam to the enviable position of Vice Chancellor of the University of Port Harcourt the statement expressed confidence in the ability of Baridam to take the University to greater heights. Mr. Ejiowhor said of him "no doubt this well deserved appointment is a clear testimony of the federal government's absolute confidence in your vision for sustaining the accelerated pace of development of our great UNIPORT."
The statement prayed God to continue to bless the new Vice Chancellor with good health, wisdom and success in all his future endeavours.
In a related development, the union also expressed happiness over the appointment of Sir, David Suowari to the enviable position of Registrar in the Niger Delta University (NDU), Yenagoa by the Bayelsa state government. The leadership of SSANU described Sir Suowari as a man of many parts, adding that his resourceful and tested experience as a successful manager of human and material resources has propelled him to the apogee of his career in public service.
Mr. Abel Ejiorwhor simply said that the "Niger Delta University (NDU) will find him very useful." He wished the Registrar well and hoped that Sir Suowari will do better than he did at the University of Port Harcourt.
