The chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Chief Ezebumwo Nyesom-Wike has commissioned and dedicated Ejims plaza to God.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony of the ultra-modern building last Friday which took place at Ejims compound, Rumuobioakani in Obio/Akpor LGA, Barrister Nyesom Wike said that the building is not only meant for Ejims Wopara and his family, but for the people of Obio/Akpor and other Nigerians.
He said: "This edifice is a legacy even if Eze Wopara is not alive today, his children and others will continue from there. Therefore, on behalf of my council today, I commission and dedicate this building to the glory of Almighty God. To God be the glory."
The council boss who was the special guest of honour at the occasion assured that his administration will continue to create a conducive environment so that people can come to invest without intimidation and harassment if they pay their rents and statutory taxes when due.
He lauded Eze Wopara for his efforts in erecting the edifices, which he noted would provide jobs for the unemployed if put into proper use.
Earlier, the owner of the real estate, Eze Ejims Wopara, the Eze Ize Agu II of Obiokani had said that he was motivated to erect the ultra modern building in order to reduce the acute shortage of accommodation in the state as well as to promote industrial development.
He frowned at the frequent collapse of buildings in the state, adding that to erect two or three-storey building requires extra measure. He charged real estate developers to always carry out soil test before any work.
Eze Wopara reiterated his preparedness to sustain peace in his domain through dialogue.
Also speaking, the chairman of the occasion, Barrister Temple Ejekwu pointed out that to erect a magnificent building such as this is characterized by difficulties. He commended the structural design of the edifice, stressing that they will always identify with him.
