Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the South-west may have commenced a peace move to resolve the political impasse between Governor Rasheed Ladoja of Oyo State and his enstranged political godfather, Alhaji Lamidi Adedibu.
THISDAY checks revealed that the leadership of the party weekend held a close-door meeting with Adedibu to put an end to the crisis.
The political crisis, which reared its head again on last Tuesday in Ibadan, saw the hired thugs invaded the state House of Assembly, and chased out some Assembly members suspected to be in Adedibu camp.
Also, the crisis led to the purported plan to impeach the Assembly Speaker, Hon. Mikail Alarape, who was alledged to be in support of Adedibu's group.
Prior to the attack on the Assembly, a confidant of Adedibu, Alhaji Lateef Olaniyan was assasinated by unknown gunmen.
However, it was learnt weekend in Osogbo that PDP Deputy National Chairman (South-west), Senator Yinka Omilani, led some party chieftains in the zone to Adedibu residence in Ibadan for a possible truce.
PDP South-west was said to have dissatisfied at which the crisis has taken moreso the party was trying to maintain its leadership role in the zone.
Sources close to the meeting told THISDAY that PDP members that turned out for the meeting was very impressive as they had fruitful deliberations on how to bring peace to the party in the state and entire zone.
