Death of Okada rider: Ohaneze leader vows to obtain justice


AS a test of his earlier pledge to work for the unity and strength of Igbo residents in Lagos, the newly-elected President of Ohaneze Lagos chapter, Chief John Nzewi has vowed to pursue the alleged killing of one of its kinsmen, Mr. Peter Eze in Lagos by a naval officer to a logical conclusion.He called on the authorities to investigate the shooting to death of Mr. Peter Eze by a naval officer.

LAGOS - AS a test of his earlier pledge to work for the unity and strength of Igbo residents in Lagos, the newly-elected President of Ohaneze Lagos chapter, Chief John Nzewi has vowed to pursue the alleged killing of one of its kinsmen, Mr. Peter Eze in Lagos by a naval officer to a logical conclusion.He called on the authorities to investigate the shooting to death of Mr. Peter Eze by a naval officer.

Chief Nzewi, who personally led Ohanaeze executives on a condolence visit to the Ezes' Lagos resident demanded that justice should be done in the course of investigation.He vowed that any attempt to manipulate justice from any quarters would not be accepted by his people.

The Ohanaeze executives demended that justice should be done in the course of investigation.

The group also called on the government to treat the case purely as a murder case rather than believing claim by the accused naval officer that Mr. Eze was trying to rob him. Other members of the exco who accompanied the President on the visit were Chief C. C. Ozor, Chief Emeka Andy-Nwanze and Chief J. Egejuru.

Barrister Azubuike stated that "the Igbo nation would not fold its hand and watch their kinsmen being killed in most parts of the country," adding that the group was going to do everything within its power to make that suspect was brought to justice.
