A newspaper reporter in Abia State, who lost his family of four in mysterious circumstances last year now has another evil to contend with, as he found an Agama lizard nailed to his bathroom door.
Emeka Osondu said he found the diabolic thing when it was exactly one year that his family was snatched by the cold hands of death.
He believes that the intention of those, who drew a sign on the door of his bathroom and nailed the lizard to it, was to kill him.
He said: "June 12 was the one year anniversary of the burial of my wife and children. It was marked quietly in my village, Alayi in Bende local Government Area of Abia State.
"On Thursday night, I saw this old Agama lizard neatly nailed at the back door of my bathroom. I know that I am not afraid to die because I've been dead since last year when I lost my entire family.
"However, when I started meditating on it, I realized that it is not a child's play, I realized that those who did actually meant evil. Nobody in the whole house agreed that he knew anything about it.
"It is a very old Agama lizard and they drew an inscription with what looked like black chalk before driving a six inches nail on the head of the unfortunate animal.
"This thing happened four days after I came back from the village where I went to remove the cloth of mourning for the family.
I will not advise those after me to stop. But all I will tell them is that the day they succeed, they will carry my sins and the sins of my wiped out family on their head."
Osondu said the development had convinced him that his family was bewitched and wiped out. "They should keep on trying, but I assure them that if God does not approve of it, they will not succeed," he said.
