The Ukanafun Local Government Council Supervisor for Works, Transport and Housing, Hon Sylvanus S. Titus has reiterated Akwa Ibom State cannot achieve any level of progress, if it remains a breeding ground for cultists. Titus made the observation while chatting with newsmen.
The supervisor noted that no responsible government could watch idly as the social fabric of society is degraded by such acts.
He advised parents to pay more attention to their children, disclosing that it was now obvious that any student of the state caught engaging in cult activities would be expelled from the institution.
Accordingly, he urged students to shun cultism and face their studies which he acknowledged was the primary reason for sending them to school..
He said that "we must ensure that we emphasize those things that bind us together as a nation. We must all strive to promote unity."
He enumerated some of the things he had done to affect the lives of his people.
These include the purchase of six motorcycles, training youths in various skills and the purchase of bundles of zink for the renovation of dilapidated government secondary school, Afaha Obo.
Titus revealed he had helped to build a village town Hall at the cost of N200.000.00 for the people of Ikot Akpa Inyang. And also made arrangements to provide books for students to study hard .
Hon Sylvanus Titus recently donated a trophy worthy about one hundred and fifty thousand naira to kick-start unity football contest in the wards that comprise Ikot Akpa Inyang and Ikot udo Iyak. He congratulated the Governor, Obong Victor Attah and his wife for successfully celebrating forty years of matrimony. Titus prayed God would continued to protect them and give them the vision and the sense of commitment that is helping greatly in transforming the developmental landscape of Akwa Ibom State.
