Andoni chairman warns chiefs

The chairman of Andoni L.G.A, Elder (Hon.) Monwan Owoh Etete has called on some Chiefs in Ngo community to leave up to their responsibilities.

The chairman of Andoni L.G.A, Elder (Hon.) Monwan Owoh Etete has called on some Chiefs in Ngo community to leave up to their responsibilities.

Etete made the call last Tuesday in his office at Ngo, when he was addressing HRH Job W. Okruket and HRH U.D. Ngere in a security meeting and called on the two traditional rulers to always give proper information to their youths to ensure peace reigns in their domain.

Elder Etete intimated the Chiefs of the security reports, which got to him and revealed that youths from Egweoke and Uwo Ille were forming illegal youth groups, which are indicating security risk in the area.

The council boss used the forum to advise Chiefs Okruket and Ngere not to bail any youth arrested by the police in relation to unlawful conducts, stressing that whoever does so would be held responsible for any break down of law and order in the area.

He told the Chiefs that associating themselves with youths arrested by the police always gives the youths courage to cause trouble in communities and blamed the two traditional rulers for not putting in their best to taming their subjects, especially, as it concerns the present security reports on his table.

Elder Monwan Etete has therefore directed the DPO, Ngo and the SS in the area who were also in the meeting to bring to book any one trying to foment trouble in the Local Government Area.

In another development, members of Project Monitoring Team of the Rivers State Advisory Council have commended Hon. Monwan Owoh Etete's led administration.

The team led by the former deputy governor of Old Rivers State; Chief (Dr.) D.U. Anucha made the commendation yesterday while inspecting council projects executed by Hon. Etete in Andoni.

The team members said they were impressed by what Andoni Local Government Area has done within the past one year of the present administration and urged other council chairmen to emulate Etete in infrastructure development.

Earlier, before taking the team round project sites, Hon. Etete had thanked the team for taking the pains to visit Andoni, regardless of the hostile terrain, adding that his administration is poised to putting lasting legacies on Andoni soil before hit leaves office.
