Thieves who may be part of a group that has been robbing banks in Bonny Island have struck again.
This time, they did not wit for the funds meant for banking purposes to get to its destination from Port Harcourt.
They jumped the crew that was bringing in the funds meant for First Bank Plc midstream, killing two mobile policemen and a boat driver.
Tuesday evening, a lot of curious people at the island gathered at the police station.
How the robbers got to know the bank was transferring funds to its branch in Bonny still remains a mystery.
Armed robbers have recorded a number of successes in recent times in the island kingdom.
As at press time, there were suspicions some bank officials may be involved in the snatching of millions of naira in transit.
