Group backs Brown's developmental drives

A frontline socio-political organization in Asari-Toru local government area, ASALGA Consultative Forum (ACF) has expressed support for the developmental initiatives of Hon. Aroloyeteim I. Brown, chairman of the council.

A frontline socio-political organization in Asari-Toru local government area, ASALGA Consultative Forum (ACF) has expressed support for the developmental initiatives of Hon. Aroloyeteim I. Brown, chairman of the council.

The body also identified the numerous efforts which the council boss, in conjunction with the Amanyanabo of Kalabari, Prof. T.J.T. Princewill and his Council of Chiefs, has been making to have lasting peace in the area as some of the reasons why they rally behind him.

Speaking on behalf of ACF during a courtesy call on Hon. Brown last week Friday, the co-ordinator, Hon. Daiyeriton-a Amachree remarked that leadership at all levels of the society should impact meaningfully on the followership, pointing out that the return of steady social and economic activities by the inhabitants of the area testify to the solid achievements of the chairman.

Hon. Amachree also noted that they were not surprised by the strides of Hon. Brown, considering the exemplary leadership of Governor Peter Odili who pioneered Independent Power Generation in this country.

ACF pointed out that it was necessary for all segments of the society to support the initiatives of the council leadership, adding that where necessary, constructive criticism should be given to help realize the best results for the majority always.

In his response, the council boss, Hon. Brown welcomed the goodwill and fellowship offered by ACF, insisting that all hands must be on deck in the drive to reposition ASALGA, an area that "used to be a point of envy and emulation in the comity of LGAs in the South-South zone."

Furthermore, he reiterated the fact that council funds were for various programmes and policy-implementation designed to improve the living standards of the populace and not for sharing by those who claim to be senior stakeholders of the area.
