The National Union of Etche Students (NUES) has risen in defence of the Chairman of Etche local government area, Hon. Ephraim Nwuzi in the recent crisis that engulfed the Umuechem community.

The students body noted that the allegations against the chairman were a calculated attempt to incite the good people of Etche against him.

In a statement signed by the President, Comrade Emem Chigozie, stated that Umuechem community has an internal problem that needs God's intervention, adding that some traditional rulers and individual bodies in Etche have made frantic efforts to resolve the crisis.

The president called on the people of Etche to respect their leaders and work with them in order to bring about peace and development in Etche.

The students body used the opportunity to congratulate the chairman on his one year anniversary and commended him for the achievements so far recorded.
