A woman, who was tied down in Nigeria by her United State-based husband, has jumped inside a well, after she found out that the man had set up home with another woman abroad.
Reports say Grace was forced to commit suidice, because she had waited for 15 years before she learnt of the betrayal.
Her close friend, Jacinta, told, Daily Sun about the happy beginning and sad ending of Grace's love story' started with her lover Pius, way back in their secondary school, before the loverboy travelled to America in 1990.
Before he travelled out, Pius was said to have taken drinks to Grace parents to express his intention to make her his wife. And she was promptly asked to move into his parents' house as a wife-in-waiting, with the understanding that her man would come back for her as soon as he found his feet in America.
Grace thereafter moved into the home of Pius' parents and began to perform duties and responsibilities expected of a wife in an African homestead.
Jacinta said: 'We, her friends, advised her against the decision, but she would not listen. When we started pestering her too much, she kept her distance from us."
Five years ago when Pius allegedly stopped getting in touch with her, friends had told Grace to forget about the affair and start a new life by moving back to her parents' house.
'We have all been married with issues, so we advised her to read the handwriting on the wall and go into another relationship, but she refused to listen. Rather, she joined a pentecostal church claiming to be born-again," Jacinta said.
She revealed that despite all entreaties from Pius' father, who is now late, that Grace should forget about his son and make a new life for herself, Grace continued nursing the hope and unshakeable belief that God would answer her prayer. She believed that one day Pius would come back to take her to the US.
Trouble began to rear its ugly head when one of their town's girl met Pius in America in company with another woman and children and told Grace's parents that the man their daughter was wasting her life over was legally married with three kids in the US. The parents were left with no alternative than to recall their daughter to their homestead.
However, since Grace was recalled home, she was not herself as she started behaving abnormally.
The friend said, 'when she met me in the church in company of my children, she complained bitterly about her wasted years. She felt thoroughly wasted. So, I was not surprised when I heard that she had killed herself.
She revealed that on the fateful day that she took her own life, Grace visited most of her friends and told them that she would be leaving for a journey of no return, the friends did not decode her message clearly until the news of her suicide broke.
According to Jacinta, Grace had been buried in the traditional way. She said: 'She was buried in the evil forest without mourning, but the people who buried her placed a curse on Pius."
