A group, Association of Democratic Professionals (ADP), a non-governmental organisation, has charged the newly appointed Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Dr. Segun Mimiko, and his Justice counterpart, Chief Bayo Ojo, to work assiduously in their various ministries to justify the confidence reposed on them by President Olusegun Obasanjo.
A group, Association of Democratic Professionals (ADP), a non-governmental organisation, has charged the newly appointed Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Dr. Segun Mimiko, and his Justice counterpart, Chief Bayo Ojo, to work assiduously in their various ministries to justify the confidence reposed on them by President Olusegun Obasanjo.
The two ministers were advised to regard their new assignment as reward for their good works done in the past and also as an incentive to work harder so as not to disappoint those who believe in them.
In a statement by its President, Dr. Jelili Okikiolu, the group cautioned the new ministers against distraction, saying 'you must not forget your good principles that have been guiding you."
Describing the duo as reliable, dependable and trust-worthy men of honour, ADP said Obasanjo did not make a mistake by giving Mimiko and Ojo the ministerial appointments.
The statement said: 'With their appointments, President Obasanjo has further demonstrated his belief in the abilities of the youth to contribute to the development of this country. While thanking the President for this honour, we are reminding the two ministers of their past good work which they must build upon.
'Mimiko and Ojo are well-known to us as our members and we can assure that they will allow their good records to guide them in their new assignments. We can vouch for their impeccable integrity in their national assignment.
'While we can boldly describe Dr. Mimiko as a committed and dynamic young man, Chief Ojo is an intellectual giant whose hallmarks include honesty, probity and selfless service to humanity. We are merely reminding them to be more pragmatic in these new assignments."
