Following recent major cabinet reshuffle in which at least 10 ministers were relieved of their appointments, President Olusegun Obasanjo yesterday approved the appointment of 5 new presidential advisers.
Following recent major cabinet reshuffle in which at least 10 ministers were relieved of their appointments, President Olusegun Obasanjo yesterday approved the appointment of 5 new presidential advisers.
A statement signed yesterday by Secretary to Government of the Federation, Chief Uffot Ekaette gave their names as Professor Kunle Ade Wahab of the Obafemi Awolowo University, who had been appointed as Special Adviser, and Head of Budget Monitoring and Price Intelligence Unit (BMOIU), while former national publicity secretary, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Mr Venatius Ikem whose portfolio was not specified was also appointed a special adviser. Others according to the statement are Ms Bimbola Ogunseitan, appointed as senior special assistant to the president (BMPIU) and deputy Head of the unit. Also appointed was former Director, Centre for Energy Research and Developments, Obafemi Awolowo University, Professor A.O. Adegbulugbe as special adviser, energy.
He takes over from Dr Edmund Daukoru who had been elevated as Minister of State, Petroleum Resources, while Mallam Bibi Farouk was appointed as special assistant but his portfolio was also not specified.The appointments the state ent said take immediate effect.
