The meeting is also to enable all the groups come together under one umbrella, with a code name "Nigeria Project." All the groups from the ward level to the state have resolved to fuse together in preparation for the take-off of the nationwide campaign which will be preceded by Babangida's formal declaration before the end of the first quarter of the year.
THISDAY gathered that the meeting will decide the appointment of state and national directorate coordinators, as against media reports that six coordinators had been appointed.
Faulting the report, our source said appointment of coordinators can only be made after the various groups, numbering over 250 "fuse together, harmonise programmes and plans. And this will be done on Saturday in Abuja."
It is also gathered that the meeting which has the blessing of General Babangida will be attended by members of the National Assembly, politicians across party lines and some retired military officers who served under his eight years rule.
Confirming the meeting, a chieftain of one of the IBB groups, Alhaji Sani Musa said the meeting will reposition their campaign and the eventual actualisation of the presidential dream of the former military leader.
Musa, who is also a 2007 governorship hopeful in Niger State stressed the need for unity among all the groups. "We realised the need for unity. We are all coming together to harmonise our programmes and plans for the actualisation of the Nigerian Project.
