The governor who spoke while receiving the trade delegation led by Gboyega Olaniyonu, said it was high time Africans woke up to the reality that there was a need to have a Marshal Plan for the continent of Africa just as Europe decided not too long ago towards fashioning out a blueprint for the rapid growth of its economies.

Tinubu explained that the state had decided to operate a private sector driven economy with the adoption of the Public Private Partnership (PPP) approach, in which the government created the right environment for investors to operate.

In this wise, he added that the business of government was to provide security, infrastructure and a tax friendly environment for would be investors both local and foreign as government continued to ensure that the private sector was made the engine of growth.

Tinubu noted that the state would also welcome investors in the area of mass transit, especially in the rail sector, noting that his administration inherited an antiquated transportation system characterised by rickety and small buses that must be replaced.
