Accusations and counter accusation trails the killing last Saturday, of an associate of Alhaji Lamidi Adedibu, as Oyo State Goverment absolved itself of any culpability.

But Adedibu, surrounded by sympathisers, alleged agents of the state Governor, Rashidi Ladoja, of the killing.

He, however, said he has put the killers and their sponsors in the God's court, taking solace in the fact that 'they too will die one day."
In a sharp reaction, Barrister Sarafadeen Alli, Chief of Staff to Ladoja, denied any involvement of the state in the killing.

According to him, 'why should we kill him? The deceased was a friend of goverment, he was very close to us, in fact we attended his son's wedding and provided him with logisticts."

Alli also said the late Lateef Olaniyan was not a political threat to goverment, 'so we have no reason whatsoever to kill him, in fact, those who felt uncomfortable with his closeness to goverment might have done the havoc," Alli said.

He, however, appealed to the police to speed up investigation on the matter and arrest the culprits.

While appealing to the people to remain calm, Alli warned those who are in possession of illegal firearms to surrender them to the police, as those caught would be dealt with seriously.
