Udofia replaces Ekpeyong as DG


Samuel Mike Udofia has been sworn in as the next Deputy Governor of Akwa Ibom State.

Samuel Mike Udofia has been sworn in as the next Deputy Governor of Akwa Ibom State.

His swearing in ceremony was expected to have taken place Friday but as at the time of this report, we were unbale to hear from our man on the ground in Akwa Ibom.

Thursday, the Telegraph called an aide of Governor Attah, Udeme Nana after the news filtered in that Udofia had become the anointed one.
Nana confirmed the development. When asked how the mood was in Uyo, he said people were in a happy mood His nomination, we gathered had received a smooth sail at the State House of Assembly.

Udofia would go into history as the second deputy governor to serve in the Attah regime.

Udofia, we have been told has sufficient experience in bureaucratic matters having served in the service.

In the Annang territories, there were sighs of relief as Udofia emerged.
He is said to be more popular with many Annangs than his predecessor was.
Many sympathizers and friends besieged his house to congratulate him on his emergence as the next number two man.

In Government circles, there was a sigh of relief that Akpeyong has left the scene.

They said the former deputy governor was not a man to show compassion for people who are in need. Christopher Tom is expected to file an update.
