The Delta State Police Command on Monday confirmed the death of its Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Mr. Victor Amen Obasuyi, an assistant superintendent of police (ASP) in the hands of armed bandits.
The Delta State Police Command on Monday confirmed the death of its Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Mr. Victor Amen Obasuyi, an assistant superintendent of police (ASP) in the hands of armed bandits.
Obasuyi was said to have been accosted by a four-man armed gang while driving into his compound by Evbiemroen Street, of Wire road in Benin, Edo State in the evening of the New Year.Police sources disclosed that Obasuyi left Asaba on Saturday morning for Benin to join the family to celebrate the New Year.
According to the Deputy commissioner of Police (DCP) Delta State Police Command Mr. Abdulkareem Akanno, who confirmed the incidents to journalists in Asaba, Obasuyi was shot at close range at about 7.30 p.m.Akanno who was weeping while speaking to journalists yesterday said that it was the Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 5 Benin City who called the state command at about midnight on Saturday to inform him about the incident.
