Col. Bello Fadile (rtd), former head of the Army Directorate of legal services, says he does not pay tithes in his church. 'I have a different view about it. I don't do it. My church says we should do it, I don't do it.
If you read your Bible very well, you know why God says we should pay tithes, it is to keep His house moving. You can do it in so many ways." He speaks further:
Belief
My father was a Muslim, but I grew up as a Christian. I am a Catholic, baptized and confirmed. Along the line, as a young officer, I started going to church, wedded in church but when I got into trouble the only hope opened to me was to look unto God. That is the truth of the matter.
Worship
I try to pray, but it was not like when I was in trouble, I must confess. I still try as much as possible every Sunday to attend service. I try to pray, not the usual one when I was in prison, but each morning I still remember God. Each night, I still try to thank God. I believe in one thing; when God says yes, nobody can say no. I know a lot of people who go to church but I also see them doing things that baffles me.
Soldiers in Heaven
Why not. It is the calling and you will be judged by the calling. Soldiers kill to defend their motherland. Even in the days of Jesus Christ, there were soldiers. Even though he said those who live by the sword would die by it, He knew what he was saying. He did not say you should not take up arm. Ibise eni lati moni ni ole (it is from somebody's work that you know his laziness).
Disappointment from God
God does not disappoint, but as a human being you think all is finished, but if you exercise patience, you discover that what you are looking for is not what God want for you and that is why He says my ways are not your ways. Impatience and looking at other people's successes may make people they are disappointed, but at the end of the day you thank Him.
Seeing God today
I will thank Him for making me and for keeping me alive for a purpose, which I don't know. I still believe He has a mission for me.
