A member of an armed robbery gang operating along the Jos/Zaria road has been shot dead by mobile policemen attached to 36 mobile police squad in Kebbi State.
A member of an armed robbery gang operating along the Jos/Zaria road has been shot dead by mobile policemen attached to 36 mobile police squad in Kebbi State.
The armed robber, whose identity is unknown, was operating with his colleagues by the "corner Oyoyoi" just before the NNPC depot when he was killed.
According to Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr. Isa Adejoh, the mobile policemen were on their way to Jalingo in Adamawa State when they met the roadblock with the armed robbers flagging them down.
For not obeying them, the robbers decided to open fire at their vehicle, which was immediately replied by the police.
In the shoot-out, one of the armed robbers was shot dead, while the rest took to their heels with bullet wounds.
When the body of the armed robber was searched, he was discovered to be wearing a native bulletproof jacket.
While detectives have been sent out to arrest the other members of the gang, members of the public have been told to be mindful of any person that approached them for treatment of bullet wounds.
