Not many workers at the state and local government levels appear to be happy at the moment.

Reason? Their salaries for last month have remained largely unpaid despite the fact that funds have been released for the purpose and lodged with commercial banks.

But workers angry over the development say they are passing through hell.

Signs that money was around the bend emerged when local government council chairmen about a week ago attended their monthly JAC meetings where their share of funds from the federation account were amicably shared.

Insiders say the sharing process was an indication that finance officials at the State level had discharged their obligation.

The Telegraph inundated by complaints have learnt through impeccable sources that the problem at the moment is from the banks.

Since the lightening raids that led to the loss of millions of naira, banks have become weary to move large sums of money for fear that such transfers might attract attention.

As a result, it is the ordinary worker that now is at the receiving end.
Bank officials say they are doing their best to meet the needs of their customers.
