CAF Champions League defending kings, Enyimba International of Aba, have warned Egypt's Al Ahly, to be ready to fall in Sunday's second Group A match in Abuja
The Enyimba team, who were forced to a 1-1 draw by Ajax in Capetown, in their opening match, said they should have won the match but noted that they would exert the brunt of their anger against Egyptian giants, Al Ahly.
'They know we are the champions and they would definitely see the stuff that the champions of Africa is made of because we are going for an outright victory", said coach Okey Emordi, who reaffirmed the club's target of a claiming an hat-trick of victory in the prestigious Champions League competition..
'When we won the Cup last year, we said we wanted to be the first club to successfully win it three times in a row and at this stage of the competition, we still stand on that promise of winning the trophy three times. We are hungry to be part of history and nothing would stop our bid to win it this year".
Enyimba have enjoyed a streak of victories against opponents from north Africa in recent matches in the Champions League, a feat, which Emordi hopes would be protected against Al Ahly.
'Of course, we are not new opponents of clubs from north Africa, neither are we unaware of their football antics and they are aware that we know them inside-out. We certainly have the psychological edge over them and are hopeful of making it count in our advantage when we clash this weekend", because according to him ' the boys are well psyched up and they want to be part of history. We know what to expect from north African teams and are ready to claim the maximum points that rightly belong to us".
