The Flying Eagles of Nigeria, will today be guests of Bayelsa State governor, Diepriye Alamieyeisegha, who is hosting the team to a reception, befitting gallant footballers that made Nigerians proud at the just concluded World Youth Championships in Holland.

A government house official said that the decision of the sports-loving governor of Bayelsa, was hinged on his belief that excellence in any human activity must be rewarded in order to elicit improved performance from others in the future.

“Our governor is hosting the team because he is a man that wants our youths to develop into future stars”, said the official, who said the governor' heart was gladdened with the performance of the team and coach Samson Siasia, a native of Bayelsa State at the Holland tournament.

It would be recalled that when the Flying Eagles were facing hard times, in the months leading to the World Cup, that Governor Alamieyeisegha, gave the team N7m but the NFA made so much issue of the money because it was rooted through Siasia.
