The end of the road came for notorious serial rapist, Rabiu Ajadi, alias Tombolo who has been terrorising the people of Ogbomosho in Oyo State for the past month as he was nabbed by members of the Odua Peoples Congress (OPC) early Wednesday morning.

He was reportedly arrested by the OPC with charms, amulets, and cutlass at about 1am.

The 17 years old youth was mobbed by the people of the town, particularly women who were victims of his operations as news spread about his arrest.
He was later taken to the palace of the Soun of Ogbomosho, Oba Jimoh Ajagungbade 1.

It took spirited effort by the police to eventually rescue him from the mob. Thereafter, he was transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) Iyaganku, in Ibadan, the state capital.

Speaking on the arrest, the obviously elated Oba Ajagungbade expressed happiness at the development. He said he was alerted by the din of the town folks who massed at the frontage of his palace jubilating that Tombolo had been arrested. He noted that his town will be relieved after months of terrorism and siege by the young man.

A staffer of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology said he felt joyful both as a parent and worker of university whose students have been the major victim of Tombolo's attacks.
Downcast Tombolo said the charms found on him were for his own protection.
The police public relations officer, Mr. Femi Adedeji described the arrest as a major break-through saying the SCID Iyaganku has taken over the investigation.
