College of Education rocked by violence at Nsit Ibom


There has been a bloody uprising at the College of Education owned by the Akwa Ibom State Government. Houses were burnt and documents which part of the school's achieves destroyed.

There has been a bloody uprising at the College of Education owned by the Akwa Ibom State Government.
Houses were burnt and documents which part of the school's achieves destroyed.

From what the Telegraph gathered the imposition of the payment of the sum of N5, 000.00 on each student of the school may have helped to trigger off the crisis.
But there were indications that the rivalry between two groups, the Germans and the Oceania may have been brewing and creating tension within the school community.

Yet, what seems the most authentic account of what led to the crisis, many agree, is the increasing call by the people of the host community of the provost of the institution
The talk is that the provost's tenure has expired, with his opponents suggesting that his sojourn as the school has not brought the required dividends.
