Argentina's football legend, Diego Armando Maradona has sent a morale boosting message to his compatriots as they prepare to battle the Flying Eagles in tomorrow's final match of the World Youth Championship in The Netherlands.
According to fifa.com, Maradona picked out two players from the Argentine U-20 team, Skipper Pablo Zabaleta and top scorer, Lionel Messi for a telephone congratulatory message from his base in Italy, urging them to ensure they take the trophy home at the expense of Nigeria.
Skipper Zabaleta who was excited by Maradona's call told fifa.com that 'we're just a step away from glory while Messi just mumbled 'thanks, Diego, thanks', believing they could equal the feats of their heroes, Maradona in 1979, Sorin in 1995, Aimar, Riquelme and Cambiasso in 1997 and Saviola in 2001.
However, their coach , Francisco Ferraro does not exude the confidence of his boys as he said that 'Nigeria are a very tough, energetic side. They are full of running and fight for every ball. They've also got some gifted players", hoping that they make a good start against the Flying Eagles like they did against the Brazilians.
