The engineer turned politician poured bile in some stomachs when he publicly declared that he did not want anybody to celebrate his 50th birthday a few weeks ago.
Those who do not particularly like the governor say he spends too much time fixing roads. They say even if a road is as smooth as Aso Rock driveway, the governor would still give orders that the road be repaired. The joke in Bauchi is that the most visible thing there are Julius Berger tractors. It is therefore not surprising that some people in the state have renamed Julius Berger, Bauchi State Ministry of Works.
